| Criteria | We score five areas, each worth 20 points: bonuses (clarity, wagering, maximum bet, excluded games), payments (deposit limits, withdrawal time, Canadian method coverage), game library (provider list, live casino, sports where applicable), licence and safety (licensing body, dispute route, responsible-gaming tools), customer support (channels, hours, actual response time measured during the review). The weights don't change between reviews so that older scores remain comparable to newer ones; introducing a new weighting would mean re-scoring the archive, and we would announce that at the top of the methodology page before any live score was changed. |
| Scoring | Each criterion is scored on a 0 to 20 scale. The total 0-100 is converted to a 5-star display (100 = 5.0, 90 = 4.5, 80 = 4.0, 70 = 3.5 and so on). We do not round up. A single star rating shown anywhere on this site maps back to the detailed table on the operator's review page. If a criterion cannot be scored (for example, if the operator does not publish payout statistics) the field is marked 'n/a' and the final total is pro-rated against the number of applicable areas, which is noted on the page. |
| Re review cycle | Operator pages are re-reviewed every 30 days. If a bonus term, a payment method or a licence detail changes we update immediately and bump the date. If nothing has changed we still note 'confirmed on [date]'. A page that goes 90 days without any review is removed from the index automatically and only re-added after a full re-review. The review log at the bottom of each page lists the date of every change and the editor who approved it. |
| Limitations | Our scores reflect what we can verify: operator pages, licence registers and public reports from regulators. We cannot test KYC verification without creating a real account, which we do but only once per site. We cannot know internal fraud-check thresholds or VIP terms, and we flag those as unverified rather than guess. Country-specific behaviour (geo-blocking, local payment surcharge) is tested only from a Canadian IP range, so results from other locations may differ. We do not test with a VPN. |
| What lowers score | Hidden wagering requirement, maximum-bet trap during wagering, payout cap on no-deposit bonus, slow or inconsistent withdrawals, missing or vague licence, no responsible-gaming tools, support only via e-mail, aggressive VIP contact pressure. Each of these costs between two and six points, and two of them together usually move a site out of our recommended list. A site that loses more than twenty points in a single review cycle is marked with a warning banner and the previous score is kept visible for comparison. |
