Our Standards

1

Independence from operators

We are not owned by Winspirit, by any sister brand or by the parent group. Nobody at the operator sees our pages before publication and nobody has edit rights on this site. Affiliate compensation does not change the score we assign; if a page is paid placement, it is marked at the top as sponsored and that mark cannot be removed on request. We do not sign non-disclosure agreements that would prevent us from publishing an unfavourable review, and we do not accept retainer arrangements that bundle coverage with any form of guarantee.

2

Sponsored content is clearly labelled 'Sponsored' at the top of the page and never counts toward our ratings. We do not sell links, do not run do-follow swaps and do not accept gifts in exchange for coverage. If an operator offers free play credits for a review, we decline and buy our own test deposit. Sponsored posts, when we accept them, make up less than five per cent of what we publish in any given year, and they are listed separately in the archive.

3

Complaints about content

If you believe a page on this site contains an error, write to editor@wins-pirit.org with the URL and a specific description of the issue (which figure, which claim, what the correct value is and where it can be verified). Factual errors are corrected within one working day with a note at the foot of the page explaining what was changed and when. We do not remove accurate critical content on request from an operator or its agency; a public right of reply is available instead.

4

Principles

Accuracy before speed. Primary sources over secondary ones. Bonus terms are quoted exactly, not paraphrased. A review covers both strong and weak points — a page listing only positives is a sales page, not a review. Pages carry a byline and a date; anonymous reviews are not published. If we cannot verify a figure that would otherwise go in the review, we leave the field blank and note the gap, rather than fill the gap from a competitor's page.

5

Fact checking

Every number we publish is traced back to the operator's own page, a licence register or a payment processor's documentation. Where a figure cannot be verified we write 'operator-stated' and link the source. Pages are re-checked monthly; any change is logged in the editor's note at the bottom of the page. Numerical errors reported by readers are corrected within one working day and the page is re-dated. Non-numerical errors (misleading phrasing, missing context) are corrected within three working days.
